Released 22.06.2022
The president, Pedro Sanchez has today announced that a reduction of IVA for electricity is to be approved this Saturday, 25th June 2022, in the Council of Ministers.
With energy prices remaining high, despite newly added price cap measures, and in the face of rising inflation, the government have been forced to act to reduce the impact of soaring costs.
The cut is expected to be applicable to all consumers, both domestic and businesses regardless of the form of contract. Unlike the previous cut in IVA, this latest should be seen by all consumers.
Another bit of news, within this congressional meeting, was the announcement that the price of fuel will be continued and discounted by 0.20€/l. This again must be approved, and the finer details released during an extraordinary Council of Ministers meeting this Saturday.
Further updates will be given should the expected measures be changed.
